This past weekend, Julio was having some problems; his alternator and battery were fighting and the alternator won.  I was stuck at home the entire weekend but I was not bored.  No, no my friends, I was not bored because Santa had left me a gift at the first of the month.  While at work, Santa's elves slipped into my humble abode and replaced my 15 year old television with a newer and younger model.  I walked into the house and greeted Yen and Maddie and then promptly went to my bedroom to change my clothes.  Upon entering my bedroom, I noticed an afghan lying on the bed that had not been there when I left that morning.  Perplexed, I shrugged my shoulders and made a start for the bathroom.  The door was partially closed which caused my pulse to escalate.  Someone has been in my house, I wildly thought before trying to calm down.  I glanced back at the bed and the tell-tell afghan and noticed something even more peculiar.  Something box shaped and large was sitting against the wall and was covered with quilts.  This actually brought me some ease and had me pulling out my phone.

Me: Please tell me you have been in my house.
PU#1: What? What are you talking about?
Me: Mom, someone has been in my house and I need for you to tell me that it was you and/or Dad.
PU#1: B, I don't understand; someone has been in your house?
Me: Yes!  Things are out of place, the bathroom door was almost closed; someone has been here.
PU#1: Calm down and go to your living room.
Me: What?
PU#1: Go to your living room.
Me: I'm here, now what?
PU#1: Look at your entertainment center.

Needless to say many squeals and exclamations followed PU#1s last instructions.  Thanks to Santa's elves, I now had a brand spanking new television with...wait for it....NETFLICKS CAPABILITY!

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE THIS T.V.!  And thanks to said t.v., I was able to keep myself entertained during my weekend.  Here's how:

Mockingbird Don't Sing - Very good and disturbing documentary about Katie Standon (pseudonym)
The Proposal - Typical rom-com but I love Sandra Bullock so I succumbed to the pressure of watching and I'm glad I did; Betty White was hilarious!
Poetic Justice - Typical drama of life in Compton (or at least how Hollywood believe life in Compton to be) but it was good.  I enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed Boyz N the Hood and Dead Presidents.  Plus this one has Maya Angelo's poetry spoken throughout the film.
My Dog: An Unconditional Love Story - Documentary about NY stars and their canine companions.
Hounddog - I was not impressed and I had high hopes for this one.  I thought with Robin Wright Penn, David Morse and Piper Laurie, I could not go wrong.  I was wrong.
The Princess and the Frog - very cute Disney installment
The Young Victoria - This was good and Emily Blunt was fantastic.
Zombieland - This was hysterical, much like Sean of the Dead.
Caligua - I tried but I could not get though this one.  It was a complete failure and I was a bit horrified to see a young Helen Mirren completely naked.

I also have been watching episodes of 21 Jumpstreet thinking I would have enjoyed them at least as much as I did as a tween.  Unfortunately, I do find myself occupied with other things while the show is on in the background.  Then again, it is nice to stroll down memory land.
