It's Black, It's White

So this was going to be a deep and insight post about race, Mr. Barack Obama and the people of the United States. It was brought on by a spot I heard on NPR. NPR did a series on race relations in America and how President-Elect Obama's new position would effect those relations. Some of those interviewed thought he would have a tougher time in doing his job because blacks would feel that he would have a had time making/discussing policies without showing favoritism to his race. Other interviewed said he would have a hard time because he would have to go out of his way to not show favoritism to his race. This of course got me thinking that both were right and both were wrong. Anyway, when I got home I thought about what I was going to write and then I remembered Michael Jackson's video Black or White. I said to myself, "Why not include his video on this post". It would be nice to have something to look at instead of reading my random thoughts. Well to ad lib Sophia Petrillo of The Golden Girls, I digressed.

First I found Black or White by The King of Pop, but I couldn't get it to download.

Then I lost my train of thought and remembered this:

Then of course I couldn't not watch this:

And then I just had to watch my favorite:

As you may guess, I watched too many Michael Jackson videos and relived a little of my childhood. In the end, my original post was supposed to be about black and white and all of that. However the ultimate question I would have posed to all of you would have been and still is..... Does it matter? Shouldn't we judge a president on his abilities and not his skin color?

Am I just being completely naive?

By the way - you are welcome for the 80's blast!
